On August 9th and 10th, the Sahitya Akademi and the Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Centre for Preservation, Propagation and Restoration of Ancient Culture and Heritage of India (PPRACHIN) will host a two-day national Tribal Writers’ meet in honor of the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. Approximately 70 notable tribal writers and poets, working in 49 tribal languages, will attend the event, which aims to promote multilingual poetry and short story readings, as well as discussions on the challenges facing young writers in tribal languages and the preservation and development of Indian indigenous languages. Dr. Gayatribala Panda, Head of PPRACHIN, will oversee the event. Notable attendees include Krairi Mog Choudhary (Mog), Rajkishore Naik (Bathudi), and Lalrinhlui (Hmar).
